Ballroom Dance with Katie

I teach the language of dance. Ballroom dance is walking in patterns, as we get better and we build our muscle memory around those patterns, it becomes "fancy" walking in patterns. All of dance is made up of 5 basic elements:  Walking, side steps, triple steps, rock steps and tap/kick steps. We combine these elements to build the individual dances and "how" we dance the pattern informs us which dance we are doing. The elements are our letters, the way we combine them forms our words, we string along more words to create sentences into paragraphs and create a whole story aka the dance.

Join me for a group to learn the 5 basic elements and how we create the patterns for each dance, schedule a private lesson to get more in depth of "how" to dance the patterns in the style of dance we desire, and attend a social dance to practice what we are learning. The best way to learn is the combination of group classes, private lessons and practice at a local dance. Happy Dancing!!
